Corsica, 1995: Lesia is experiencing her first summer as a teenager. But she is different: she is the daughter of a well-known mafia boss who has gone into hiding. After an attack, the clan is alarmed. The father fears the consequences of his own vendetta and wants to protect his daughter. So he has her brought to him. An escape begins, during which father and daughter learn to truly meet, understand and love each other for the first time.
The Kingdom is both an intimate portrait of a special father-daughter relationship and a precise depiction of conflicts, some of which continue to the present day and continue to characterise life on Corsica.
